Surfing
365 days a year, there is a wave to be surfed on the island. A true surfer’s paradise. A water sport enthusiast’s dream. If there is anything that you need to know about this topic, we highly recommend you ring up our dear friend Bodie. A great, solid friendly guy that will offer you a lesson or just give you genuine island advice. Trust us, he is one of a handful of guys on the island that knows the water and knows it well.
Catamaran Cruise
A definite highlight of Barbados is experiencing from a catamaran. A nice, meandering cruise, a cool beverage in your hand, turquoise waters as far as the eye can see. The warm sun and cool breeze. Enough said. You must do this. One recommendation is Calypos Cruises. Captain Nick and his crew are top notch!
Fishing
The warm waters off the coast of Barbados offer ideal fishing for Barracuda, Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin (Dorado), and the Marlin species. There is a fleet of Cabin Cruisers available for charter. Most charters include drinks, all tackle and bait. Contact one of the Operators to arrange your fishing trip or coastal cruise. Spin fishing from the many beaches and inshore fishing from open boats is a popular pastime for Barbadians. Fishing is in fact a way of life. The Barbados Game Fishing Association is responsible for organizing all fishing tournaments in Barbados.
Our personal favourite contact for fishing is a gentlemen by the name of Trevor “Bad Habbits” Browne. Capt. Trevor Browne owns and operates a small open boat with twin outboard motors based in Sandy Beach, Worthing Christ Church. He offers fun fishing for big game, catering for all ages and levels of angler. Offering an engaging and knowledgeable service, he’ll put you on the fish show you a fun time!
