“It took me ages to find a property that could accommodate the differing needs of our large family group. I eventually found Maya’s Bajan Villa’s and we rented both villas for two weeks. I have to say, we were absolutely delighted, the villa’s lived up to and exceeded our expectations. They are perfect for a mixed group of people, from teenagers to older people with accessibility needs. We never felt cramped, or on top of each other. Everyone loved the house’s and was able to relax and enjoy the space. “AMAZING TIME! The People were sooo friendly!”

Just a note to,let you know what an amazing time we had in Barbados. The people are one of the friendliest we have met in our travels. I can’t say enough about the food, Cafe Sol and Oistins we were at at least 6 times each. Every time we got off the bus in the evening we stopped at Breezers for a couple of rum and coke, and ate there often. Did the caves, the wildlife reserve and I’m sure we hit most of the beaches. Toured the entire island, I think 5 times. Toured St, Nicholas Abbey and bought their 12 year old wine, had our bottle engraved. Kent played pool with the locals at The Pool Hall in downtown Bridgetown a number of times, and I played the poker slots, the people were so friendly. Our company, other than the kids were all from Alberta, so it took them quite some time to get there, the red eye from Calgary to Toronto and then the 5 hour flight from Toronto early in the morning to Barbados, but they all had a great time. Your Villa is beautiful, has everything you could possibly want. Once again, thank you for a wonderful stay!

“Real Barbados”

Enjoyed a guys getaway here at Maya’s Bajan Villas and I can`t recommend it highly enough. Clean, breezy, spacious, a home away from home in a tropical paradise. The property is as close to the real Barbados as a visitor can get and makes a great base to explore the island and have an alternative to the typical sheltered beachfront all-inclusive. Beaches are definitely there; the local one down at the end of the street or the trendier Dover beach and the Gap a few minutes drive further. Try one of the local minivan taxis for a ridiculously cheap mode of transport to all the resorts, beaches and sights that puts you in touch with the true local experience. On other islands this might not be a good thing, but not in Barbados. The people make this place awesome. They are the most friendly, polite and considerate folks in a tropical setting ever. You WANT to get around and mingle. Try that in Jamaica or Dominican (no thanks). Friday night Fish fry and jump up in Oistens is the place to be after a week of surfing, sightseeing and well deserved relaxation at Maya’s.

“Cottage life in Barbados!”

Had a great time at the Maya’s Bajan Villas w a bunch of the guys. Place is bigger than expected, has all the amenities you could possibly need. Walking distance to all the essential places like the market and the beach – quick drive to some of the public beaches, restaurants and even Bridgetown.

“BEST PLACE EVER!!!!”

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Maya’s. I came in direct contact with the owner, Edward. From there on it was an uphill experience. We were 3 generations that felt very privileged to stay on your property for a week while exploring the beautiful island of Barbados. We arrived and were warmly greeted by Sonia on the terrace. The house is even better than it appeared online. Beautiful view, comfortable bedrooms, tasteful decorations and the house was clean, clean, clean. (That was my biggest fear) Sonia and John were wonderful to work with. The kitchen was easy to work in, we cooked dinners there the nights we did not eat locally. We cooked breakfast each morning as the grocery store was within walking distance. Both villas were really lovely and had everything we needed, dishes, clothing iron,pots, pans, WIFI phone books extra beach towels…Everything was considered. The beds were comfortable and the nights were very peaceful and quiet. As a Texan, naturally my next concerns were mosquitoes and a lack of air conditioners. Neither of these were ever a problem. Literally every room in both units have fans and an abundance of windows which combined kept cool air circulating throughout the villa. Even though the villas were gated, my boyfriend loved that there is a safe where you can store your valuables and that there are motion lights for extra security Altogether it was an unforgettable vacation with amazing memories hopefully to be repeated in the near future. This is bar none the BEST place to stay in Christ Church. Again, the professionalism paired with warmth of Sonia, John and Edward were top notch.

“Maya’s Bajan Villas!!!”

We just came back from a 13 day stay at Maya’s Bajan Villa. Prior to the trip Edward was very helpful and would either call or email back with any questions I had for him. We used his recommendations for surfing and tours and we were thrilled with them. Upon arriving Jonathan went out of his way to take us to the grocery store and gave us suggestions on places to eat and what to do while there. The house is stunning, well laid out with everything you need and super clean. Beaches are close and the public transportation is a must and very convenient. We walked at all hours and felt very safe in the neighbourhood. I would recommend this rental for just about anyone! Can’t wait to go back.

“Great rental property”

We stayed here from Feb 5-14,2016. It was perfect. Edward and Jonathan were so helpful with our trip. Jonathan went over the map with us and recommended beaches to snorkel, great sights to visits, and what restaurants. This really helped make our trip terrific.We stayed upstairs in rental B with 4 rooms and there was four of us. Great views and there is always a breeze through the windows so not having air conditioning was never a problem. Jonathan had mosquitos spray available to us but we can honestly say we never saw any our whole trip and we were all over the island. The outdoor shower was great when we came back from the beach. The house is plenty stocked with anything you need like dishes, pots for cooking, towels, extra bedding, barbecue, toys and books. The house is gated and the area was very safe. Buses were a 5 minute walk and it was a 15 minute walk to Oistens to eat,get groceries, banking and lovely beaches. There were beaches closer too but I really liked Miami Beach. Jonathan provided with a cell phone if we needed it and he was always available to us. We toured the downstairs rental which had less bedroom and we would definitely stay there too. It was very easy to get to where ever we wanted to go and the buses constantly go by and run until midnight. We walked to Luigis restaurant one night too and it was a 15 min walk and very safe. We loved this area and would rent here again. You are in great hands with Edward and Jonathan.

“Fabulous family vacation!”

Our stay at Maya’s Bajan Villas was everything that was promised and more. The accommodation was perfect for our two families of four. The villa was spacious enough to celebrate Christmas with four children under nine years old and had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Maxwell beach was an easy walk for the kids and the car rental allowed us to see the rest of the island. Edward and Jonathan were very knowledgeable and friendly and their recommendations for sightseeing and dining was spot on. We would definitely return to Barbados and stay at this villa again. A hidden gem!

Hello MBV’s Like john must have told you, everything was perfect! We had good weather with some occasional rain but we didn’t mind because we were in the water surfing. The fish market closeby came in very handy with the bbq! The villa was well equipped. We didn’t miss anything. We felt safe and Johnathan was very thorough. “A Wonderful Time!”

Hi Maya’s Bajan Villas, A big thank you from Carole and I to you all for allowing us the use of your property in Christ Church. We had a wonderful time after surviving the challenge of learning to drive on the left. I guess we saw most of the island (sometimes at least twice as we managed to get lost every time we ventured afar). Learned to navigate mostly by the sun position and with a useful tip Johnathan gave us re the bus signs ( out of city vs to city). The house is awesome………absolutely all the things one needs are supplied and everything was so neat and clean. Got to know Johnathan and Sonja ……………wonderful people, and your neighbours always had a pleasant hello or a wave every day. Random things we enjoyed were awesome water out of the tap, Oistins on both Friday nights we were there, Mahi-mahi every night we went out (me), Champers and Luna, our lunch favourite spot Cafe Sol, as well as chicken sandwiches at Chefette when at Accra Beach……. and at the top of the list, drum roll…… Banks at happy hour. And number one plus……….the beach and the water…..the southern shore rocks!!! We hope to return again, this time for a little longer. It would have been easy to stay another week this time as when our departure day came, we were not quite ready to say good-bye. All the best and thanks again,

Dear Edward, (c/o Maya’s Bajan Villas) It seems 2 by 2 we all arrived home safely. Thanks again for all of your help. The Villa was everything we could ask for and more. Plenty of room, plenty of towels, plenty of dishes and comfortable beds for everyone. No air conditioning was never an issue, in fact it was welcomed to have free flowing air and fans to circulate the air quite comfortably. The design of the villa is superb for air flow! Although this was a newer area for us to stay in, we found our way around very easily. Shopping, beaches, restaurants and the supermarket all nearby. ZR busses took us to many other favourite places. With social media, I’m sure we’ve peaked the interest in your Villa to many of our friends. Johnathan and Sonia were very helpful and only a phone call away if we needed them. AMAZING!

We visited this villa in the month of December. The place was absolutely stunning, very well maintained and equipped with everything you need. It is conveniently located 10 minutes from the airport on a nice quiet street. It is very easy to get to restaurants, stores, festivals etc…There are a variety of crystal clear beautiful beaches to choose from very close to the villa. One or two that are a couple minutes walk from the villa. The owners of the property are fantastic people. I will definitely book at this villa again. thank you for the outstanding accommodations.

This villa was in a great location. My guests and I loved the accommodations and the ease at which we were able to get around. “Great Place!!!”

We rented the place as we were in Barbados for a wedding. We had the downstairs unit very well equipped and on a quiet street. There is one queen bed very comfortable in one bedroom and one queen in second bedroom and also a single bed in that bedroom too. No one was upstairs. It is 2 blocks from bus and 20 minutes to grocery store. The unit is equipped with some basic staples and toilet paper, Kleenex and soap. Cheaper to take taxi from airport than have property manager pick you up. You can walk to to the beach 3 or 4 blocks away. The unit hasn’t any air conditioning but always a good breeze and ceiling fans in most rooms. There aren’t too many places to dine within walking distance only Charlie’s Bar and Grill. Owner is excellent to deal with. T.V. has 999 stations so always something to watch and free internet access that works well. Be sure to go to the Oistins Fish Fry Friday night 20 min. walk. We would rent the place again. Photos reflect exactly how the place is and property is well maintained.

Hi Ed Thanks so much for the follow up email. I wanted to extend my thanks on behalf of myself and my friends for the incredible hospitality and wonderful house while in Barbados. Jonathan was nothing short of amazing and a perfect host. He’s a great guy to have on your team. As a small business owner here in NYC- I’d die for an employee with his character and skill set:) Tell him we said thank you again for everything! The house was beautiful and perfect in all respects. “Family Reunion”

The location is perfect, with easy access to Oistin and several beaches. We had 4 couples (us, 3 children + spouses and 2 grandchildren), 2 couples and grandchildren were upstairs with 2 couples downstairs. We used the main floor kitchen and dining most of the time and there was plenty of cooking utensils, etc. The manager was quite helpful in getting us settled and answer questions. The rooms were adequately furnished with the only negative being the quality of the kitchen drawers. Oistin Fish Fry is a must to attend on Friday night. Miami Beach is great was great for the grand kids, as was Dover and Accra, however the beach directly West of the house was quiet. We managed to get around mostly using local transportation, but rented a car for 3 days to visit some sights that were more distance such as East Coast, Crane Beach and the Wildlife Refuge.

“Our stay at the Villa”

I just wanted to let you know myself and my party had a lovely stay at your stunning villa last month and I would definately recommend it to anyone that I know who is thinking of visiting the Barbados!! It was great to go somewhere that actually looked like the pictures, and with it being so close to the beach, also was an added bonus!! Jonathan also took great care of us while we where there and was always available if we needed any assistance, as well as calling to check up on us every now and again!! “Terrific Get-Away”

This was our first Caribbean vacation not staying in an all-inclusive. A wonderful introduction to villa vacationing! Great location! Rented a car for the week and this was the perfect base to explore the island. The villa itself is first rate. Nicely designed, very spacious, well-furnished and fully equipped for our needs. Ceiling fans in every room kept the air circulating well. We loved the use of glass brick to move the light into the interior. And a terrific mattress! Some of the beds where we have stayed previously were barely softer than the tiled floors. “Must sees” & “go to’s”: • Charlie’s Restaurant & Bar – just down the street. Great fish and chips and a totally interesting character as the host • Just Grill’em – several on the island but we went to the one in Rockley and loved it. Fast, very reasonable, and so good!!! • Ackee Tree – in Rockley. Great rotis…a whole pound. • Harrison’s Caves – Fantastical tour to a depth of 170 feet. (Don’t go if it has been raining heavily since it will be closed for flooding.) • Barbados Wildlife Preserve, Surfer’s Point, Animal Flower Cave, Oistens for the Friday night fish fry and crafts people. We went mostly to Rockley Beach and loved it. Really friendly people, great food (but slow), 2 loungers and an umbrella for $10 for the full day. Jonathan, the property manager, is fantastic! Picked us up and returned us to the airport. He was a huge help with directions and things to see and do. He even had our rental car at the villa for us. Great service and really nice guy. We found all Bajans we met to be kind and friendly people, but really impressive was that they are the most polite drivers we have ever encountered. This was a really calm and restful vacation in a beautiful setting. We’ll definitely be back!

“Wonderful Stay!!”

Our stay at Maya’s Bajan Villas was wonderful. Everything was impeccable and the villa was equipped with everything we needed or could imagine needing … (even an umbrella for a rainy day, came in really handy). Thank you for thinking of everything and for making us feel like we were at our home away from home. Location is great, and within walking distance of 2 or 3 really great beaches. Locals in the area are friendly, and local buses are so inexpensive and run very frequently. We have to spread the word and tell more people about Maya’s Bajan Villas. “Fantastic Stay!”

We had a fantastic stay in your beautiful villa! It was absolutely perfect for us. We loved the open concept, the big kitchen, the 3 separate bedrooms, the laundry room, the big veranda and all the natural light coming in from all the windows. “What a villa!”

I have stayed in hotel settings on all my previous vacations to tropical locales and this is by far the way to go. A place all to myself and at my disposal. Private and not worried about other tourists. Close enough to the beach and a local pub is all I needed. The breezy, airy design made our nights nice and comfortable. Spectacular sightseeing and watersports is a definite highlight of Barbados. What a perfect accomodation in a perfect caribbean setting. Kudos on your wonderful villa operation. I’ll be back.

“Our Bajan Experience at Maya’s Bajan Villas”

Hello Edward, I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for helping to make our trip a spectacular one! Johnathan was a very friendly and hospitable host. He was promptly at the airport when we arrived and promptly at the villa to pick us up when we departed. He also took us to the grocery and to a local restaurant to pick up something to eat when we arrived! Johnathon made sure that we were satisfied with our stay. The villa is gorgeous! It had all of the extras that we could have hoped for (i.e. cooking spices, beach towels, iron/ironing board, etc). We also had the pleasure of meeting your brother Tom, who made our experience that much MORE enjoyable. He is very friendly and knowledgeable. Tom is also a fabulous cook! He bbq’d sword fish on one night and snapper on another night! He truly is a “jack of all trades”! Thanks again for a terrific stay and please pass this message on to Tom and Johnathon for us!
